Love Avocadoes?

Well, there’s no reason not to! So many brilliant recipes!

Avocadoes are known to be a fruit rich in fats, but not many are aware of its wonderful nutritional profile which makes it well worth to be included into your daily diet. Here’s a little glimpse into the several benefits of this superfood:

Did you Know Avocadoes are –

  • Rich in Vitamins in Minerals –

Each 100 gms of its serving provides 20 essential health boosting vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Potassium, Copper, and many more.

  • Rich in Fibre –

Other than just being rich in fats, it is also rich in both soluble and insoluble fibre. About 1 cup of its serving provides 10 grams of fibre, hence, keeps you satiated and helps in keeping blood sugar levels in check. Avocadoes, therefore, are a good choice when you are aiming for weight management.

  • Improves Total Cholesterol and Triglycerides –

Avocadoes are rich in monounsaturated fats (healthy fats) and help improving lipid profiles. Studies have found that incorporating avocadoes in the diet of those with elevated cholesterol levels has shown remarkable improvement in increasing the HDL levels and decreasing both LDL and triglycerides.

  • More Potassium than Bananas –

Avocadoes are very high in potassium, containing, in fact, more than twice the amount found in bananas. Potassium is a mineral which not many get enough in their diet, and serves many vital body functions other than maintaining healthy blood pressure levels.

  • Good For Skin –

This one might fascinate ladies a bit more, but yes, the presence of high Vitamin E levels and antioxidant carotenoids helps in protecting the skin against photo-ageing caused due to sun exposure, wrinkles, and other general signs of ageing as well. Consumption of avocadoes also improves skin tone and it appears much healthy and soft.

So next time you pass by those wrinkly greenish-black fruits in the grocery aisles, stop and pick up a few. Make a tangy guacamole dip, or churn it into an icecream (yes, its neutral flavour makes it a suitable choice for sweet dishes as well!), or simply have it with chilli, lime, and salt. Anyway you have it, you will reap the benefits of this incredible health-rich fruit!
